• Linking your mobile number to Aadhaar for the first time:

Step 1: Visit Your Nearest Aadhaar Centre

If you are registering your mobile Number in your Aadhaar card for the first time then you need to visit your nearest Aadhaar Centre as it cannot be done online.

Step 2: Aadhaar Data Update/Correction Form

Ask for the Aadhar Update/Correction Form. Fill out the form correctly. Submit it to the concerned person at the centre and mention on the form that only mobile number is to be updated. Or you may download the form from UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in/) and submit it at the local Aadhaar Centre.

    Step 3: Identity Proof
Along with the correction form, attach the photocopy of a valid identity proof like PAN Card, Voter’s ID Card, Driving License, Passport, Electricity Bill, etc.

    Step 4 – Biometrics Verification

Biometrics verification is conducted by the aadhaar centre staff in which thumb impression and fingerprints are taken in order to authenticate the application. A confirmation slip is generated once the biometrics match with the ones recorded at the time of application for aadhaar card.

    Updating eAadhaar Mobile Number

Updating a new mobile number can be done online, but make sure that your existing number linked to your Aadhaar, is functional and handy. This is because the OTP to authenticate the updation would be sent to your existing number. You will be able to link your new mobile number with Aadhaar only after submitting the OTP sent on your old number.
On the UIDAI website, there's an option under the Aadhaar Update tab that will redirect the user to the Aadhar Self-Service portal.

Enter your Aadharnumber, and the Captcha text and request for OTP.

The OPT will be sent to your existing mobile number, and after submitting it you'll be redirected to a new page, where you can update the desired details.
Under 'Select field(s) to update', select 'Mobile Number'

Now enterthe new mobile number that you want to record in the database and submit.

You need to wait for 10 Days for the changes to be reflected in your Aadhaar details as per the turnaround time given by UIDAI helpline. Although, updation happens in 2-5 working days, so the status of the updation can also be checked online on the UIDAI website.
